Using my ubuntu hardy, i run
wget http://kegel.com/wine/winetricks
sh winetricks corefonts dotnet20
and successfully installed Virtual Infrastructure Client 2.5 using wine 1.1.0
i got this error when i tried to login into my ESX server
An SSL error occured.
anyone known how to fix this? please share with me

try logging in with http://, by default, it puts a https in front of whatever you put in the IP address/Name field.
did you get it to work finally? I also got to the point you reached. Using http:// instead of https:// gave an error like ‘server does not recognize the request’ or something like that.
I really would like to get rid of windows. It’s a shame that VMWare, a company that depends on Linux for their high end products does not provide a Linux client. Hypocritical if you ask me.
shane: i agreed with you. using Linux to serve only windows and make money with it. It’s a typical microsucks attitude.
